Coimbatore: The newly-built South Zone Corporation office at a cost of Rs. 7.41 Crore was inaugurated on Monday by Minister SP Velumani who distributed 37 job appointments.
Coimbatore: The newly-built South Zone Corporation office at a cost of Rs. 7.41 Crore was inaugurated on Monday by Minister SP Velumani who distributed 37 job appointments.
Appointment orders for Junior assistant typist, Office Assistant, Sanitary workers were distributed to the heirs of the people who passed away during service.
The newly inaugurated office has offices for - Assistant Commissioner, Regional Chairperson, Assistant Administration Engineer, Assistant Corporation Officer, Acting Officer, Regional Health Officer, Assistant Revenue Officer, Assistant Engineer Division, Zonal Survey Room, Audit Division, Tax Revenue Division and Public Revenue Division.
The new facility also has meeting rooms, Computer room, tax collection center and toilets all with modern infrastructure built in an area of 18,881 sq ft (ground 10,228 sq ft, 8653 sq ft first floor).
The Minister said the officials have been instructed to attend to the requests of the public promptly.

He further noted that, "Shortly, works to build an Integrated Bus Stand at Vellalore at an estimated cost of Rs. 168 crore will commence and Rs. 395.41 crore is being spent on development projects on laying drinking water pipes at Kurichi, Kuniyamuthur, Thudiyalur, Velakkinaru, Saravanampatti, Kalapatti, Chinvatadampatti and Vilankurichi."
"Siruvani drinking water pipe laying project worth Rs.3 crore in Kuniyamuthur, Rs.24.8 crore worth project to build a bridge across Noyyal river and Puttuvikki road and Rs.11.80 crore allotted for laying barricades on Puttuvikki road are all completed. Several other developmental projects are ongoing", the Minsiter noted.
Corporation Commissioner, J. Sravan Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Prasanna Ramasamy, Assistant Commissioner TR Ravi (South), City engineer A. Lakshmanan and Zonal Assistant Commissioners were present.
