Coimbatore: Following the announcement of local body election dates for Grama Panchayats, the weekly grievance day at the District Collectorate has been cancelled.
As the model code of conduct is effective from today, the grievance day stays cancelled until next announcement, said the officials.
Unaware of the model code of conduct, the public who thronged the District Collectorate to submit their petition left disappointed.
The State Election Commissioner, Palanisamy announced the local body election dates for Grama Panchayats, today. However, the election dates for Corporation, Municipality and Panchayats were not announced.
