Coimbatore: Condemning the Indian Government under Modi for having sanctioned projects and funds to the Sri Lankan government, MDMK Chief, Vaiko, alleged that the Modi Government has sanctioned Rs. 350 crore for anti-terroism and Rs. 2800 crores for economic development of Sri Lanka.
Addressing the media at the City airport here on Saturday, Vaiko came down hard on the Centre alleging that PM Modi has been sanctioning funds to Sri Lanka and hurting the sentiments of the Tamils. "PM Modi does not understand the historical and brotherly ties that we have with our Tamil brothers in Eelam", he said.
"By shaking his hands with Gotabaya Rajapakse, PM Modi has given away the rights of Tamils. Announcement of releasing Tamil fisherman and their captivated boats are PR stunts. This proves that Modi doesn’t have any mercy for the Tamilian plight in Eelam", Vaiko slammed.
He further opined that the DMK alliance is all set to contest in the local body elections and it is the AIADMK government that is delaying by still not completing the ward delimitation and district formation work.
He also requested the government to look into the crimes against women that is spiralling in Tamil Nadu.
