According to police reports, the burglars have gained entry by drilling the walls of the temple.

The hundi which had donations from people is reported missing, however jewels and the deity is safe.
"The burglars have masked the CCTV with a cloth and carried out the burglary. A case has been filed and investigations are on", informed the police.
The priest of the temple stated that while they opened the temple this morning, they were shell-shocked to find the 'Annadhanam' hundi missing and also noticed the wall being drilled by the burglars.
The Thirumuruganathaswamy Temple, Thirumuruganpoondi is a very popular destination among the locals and is 5 kms from Tirupur. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamilnadu.
