Coimbatore: An Inspector of Variety Hall road here has been suspended for negligence in duty in handling a murder case.
Sumit Sharan, Commissioner of Police issued orders to suspend him for calloulsy investigating the death case of an elderly woman which was registered as a death but upon investigation it was revealed as murder.
Ranganayagi (70), wife of Subramaniam from Sullivan Road, Coimbatore was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her home on June 18. Senthil Kumar, Inspector of Law & Order, Variety Hall Road investigated the case and registered the case as suspicious death.
But later death of the elderly woman was confirmed to be a murder. It is also reported that she was strangled to death to rob her jewelry. Meanwhile, based on the opinion of Deputy Commissioner of Law and Order, L. Balaji Saravanan, Commissioner of Police suspended Senthil Kumar who was in charge of the case.
It is to be noted that Senthil Kumar was earlier suspended in a case, where guns and bullets were confiscated from a North Indian woman's room earlier in Variety Hall road.
