At 6:30 am on Thursday, the express train from Coimbatore to Mangalore arrived at platform number three. After the passengers boarded the train, the train departed at 6:40 am. The passengers who came late were seen hurriedly boarding the train by throwing their luggages inside and then attempting to jump into the moving train. While doing so, one woman passenger slipped off the train.
Railway guard, Balakrishnan who witnessed the passenger slipping off from the train responded swiftly and helped the woman board safely into her compartment.
The footage of the incident was recorded in the CCTV camera installed at the platform.
Senior officials from the Railway Department and the public have commended the guard for his timely response.
