The Nilgiris: Acting on a tip-off, the DVAC officials led by DSP Dakshinamoorthy raided the house of PWD official, Ratnavelu and Ramesh, Development Officer in Ooty on Wednesday night. 23 documents deemed to be critical were seized during the raid.

Ramesh works as Development officer in Nilgiris district. Earlier, he has served as assistant to Ex-Collector Sankar in the Nilgiris district.
Presently his brother-in-law Rathnavelu is working as an engineer in the Public Works Department in Coimbatore. However, it is alleged that Ramesh has miused Rathnavelu's position while he was working in Ooty.
On November 15, the DVAC filed a case stating that Rathnavelu and Ramesh are in possession of several lakhs of money by misusing their positions. Following which, they raided the houses of both and seized many important documents to prove their corruption.
