Coimbatore: In a heart wrenching incident, a 29-year-old woman who was depressed over her life due to her alcoholic husband committed suicide with her two specially-abled children on Tuesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Gowri (29), Divyadarshini (13) and Pranesh (11). The bodies of the trio have been sent to post mortem and the Thudiyalur police are investigating the reason for their suicide.
Sivakumar and Gowri, residents of VOC Nagar, Nallampalayam near Kavundampalayam have two differently-abled children who were studying at Government School for differently abled children in the same area.
According to police reports, Gowri had marital problems, as her husband had not been going for work and was allegedly an alcoholic. The two had developed differences because of the specially-abled children and his alcoholic habits.
Hence, Gowri along with her children left to her mother's home in Thudiyalur. Yesterday, while her parents were away for a wedding, Gowri allegedly took the extreme step and committed suicide along with her children.
When the family returned today, they found the house locked and Gowri did not response for a longtime. Hence, they grew suspicious and broke open the door and were shell-shocked to find all three dead.

The Thudiyalur police who arrived to the spot inquired her parents and neighbours. Investigations are on.
