Coimbatore: Cadres of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) celebrated the 65th birth anniversary of LTTE leader Prabhakaran at Periyar Padipagam in Gandhipuram, here on Tuesday.

The 65th birthday of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) leader Prabhakaran is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the globe by Eelam Tamils and LTTE supporters. Joining the bandwagon, TPDK also celebrated the day by taking anti-caste pledge.
TPDK state organizer Aruchamy, presided the event which was followed by a cake cutting ceremony. Addressing the gathering he said, "Formation of Eelam might be delayed but the dream of Eelam will be accomplished in the future. And, TPDK will continue its support for the cause."

The cadres assembled near Periyar statue near Gandhipuram bus stand and pledged to eradicate caste system. They also paid homage to the deceased activists who died during imprisonment.
