Tirupur: Citing GO 318, the cadres of Marxist Communist party in Tirupur protested to issue patta for poramboke land in which the dwellers have occupied the land for more than five years. They staged a protest in front of the District Collectorate in Tirupur in which more than 300 CPM cadres participated in the protest on Tuesday.

Several poramboke dwellers in North and South Taluk living are living in these lands for 5 to 20 years. They have been even sanctioned with electricity connection. Requesting patta for the land, they have petitioned the concerned authorities several times but no action was taken, said the CPM members.
They cited GO 318 which states that patta should be issued to the tenants who have been living for more than five years in poramboke lands.
Over 300 CPM cadres headed by Ex-South Zone MLA Thangavel protested seeking patta for the landless labourers and demanded the government from refraining to relocate people who have spent on buying their lands and building houses.
