Coimbatore: Among the several petitioners who thronged the Nilgiris District Collectorate today, a group of Parents and Students of Municipal Elementary school in Ooty garnered the attention of the officials and public, as they petitioned the Collector to revoke the transfer order of their 'beloved' Deputy Principal.
In an emotional note, the students of Municipal School in Bazaar street in Ooty along with their parents stated in their petition to revoke the transfer order of Vanitha, Deputy Headmistress of the school and promote her as the Principal of the school.
Last week, as soon as the students learnt of their teacher’s transfer, the students broke down in tears and urged her to stay back. According to the parents, "The students developed a parental bond with Vanitha ma'am and her kind-hearted and novel approach to make the students focus on studies, won hearts."
The parents also noted that she had also helped many underprivileged students excel in studies by motivating and supporting them financially. Her selfless deeds brought her close to the students who loved every bit of their schooling.
"Initially the school had just five children, the tireless efforts of Vanitha teacher helped to increase the roll to 35 students", the parents said.
"She interacted with us beyond academics. Vanitha ma'am encouraged us to aim high", recalled the students.
The students holding tight to their parents left the Ooty Collectorate with much hope to see their beloved Vanitha ma'am, as their Principal.
