Coimbatore: Distribution of several welfare measures including Amma two wheeler marked the Chief Minister Special grievance camp held for wards in South Zone, here on Saturday.
Minister SP Velumani who chaired the camp in the presence of District Collector K. Rajamani provided welfare assistance to the beneficaries at the South Zone, Ward No: 91 to 100 of Coimbatore Corporation.
While addressing the gathering Minister S.P. Velumani said, under the GO 110 passed by Chief Minister, Edapadi K Palanisamy, various Welfare assistance is being provided to the public of every region. A total sum of Rs. 76,25,00 has been sanctioned and every circle will receive Rs.25,000 for executing various works.
He received petitions from the public and assured immediate redressal by forwarding the petitions to the concerned authorities.
Later, he inaugurated a housing unit worth Rs. 42.26 lakhs by TANGEDCO for the Executive Engineers in Kurichi, Assistant Engineer South.
And, Rs.1.45 crore worth of monthly assistance were distributed to 1222 beneficiaries by the Social Welfare Department, Rs. 4 lakh worth accident relief fund was distributed to two beneficiaries, Rs. 1.92 lakhs worth of assistance was distributed to 26 beneficiaries by Agricultural department, Rs. 30.50 worth subsidy for 122 women under Amma Two-wheeler scheme, Rs. 84.80 lakhs financial assistance to 49 women self-help groups, Rs. 92,000 worth sewing machine to 25 beneficiaries, Rs. 32,000 welfare assistance to two beneficiaries by the horticulture department were distributed during the event.
On behalf of the co-operative banks, Rs. 63.65 lakhs financial assistance was distributed to 49 beneficiaries, Rs. 9.42 lakhs welfare assistance was distributed to 19 beneficiaries by Agricultural department, Rs. 1.84 crores worth plot were distributed to 394 beneficiaries, Rs. 93 lakhs worth Patta to 31 beneficiaries and Rs. 4.81 lakhs worth milking cows to 14 beneficiaries by Minorities and Backward class department.
Around 60 ration cards were handed over to the public on behalf of District Public Distribution department, Rs. 12.96 lakhs worth sewing machines to 288 beneficiaries, property tax book for 17 by Corporation, 12 new water connection were also issued. In total 2,332 beneficiaries were provided with welfare assistance worth Rs. 6.35 crores.
District Collector, K. Rajamani, Legislators, Ettimadai A. Shanmugam, Kasturi Vasu, VP Kandasamy, Corporation Commissioner Sravan Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Prassana Ramasamy, District Revenue Officer, Ramadurai Murugan, District Rural Development officer Ramesh Kumar, District Backward Classes and Minorities welfare officer Manimozhi, District Welfare officer for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prabhakaran, District social welfare officer, Thangamani, Thasildhar Palanisamy and other State Department officials were present.
