Coimbatore: Today will ever be etched in the memory of 25 children of various orphanages as they had the opportunity of flying in an aircraft from Chennai to Coimbatore. The generous efforts of several organisations has helped these underprivileged children accomplish their dream which they thought is far away from reality.

Monisha, a visually challenged student who was one among the 25 children said, "I have heard the sound of an aircraft from a long distance. But now, the dream of travelling in an aeroplane has come true through 'Raindrops', Park Institution and VGP Ulaga Tamil Sangam."
"It was an awesome feeling for me to experience flight for the first time in my life. I observed the take-off and landing of an aircraft and found it was very thrilling", she added in excitement.
Raindrops a social organization in association with VGP Ulaga Tamil Sangam and Park Group of Institution were behind this generous task who organised a one-day trip from Chennai to Coimbatore in an aircraft on Friday.
The team selected 25 children including a visually challenged and transgender from various orphanages including Seers Girls Home, Sevalaya, Anandam and CHES. The children who arrived in Coimbatore on Friday morning were given a warm welcome from Anusha Ravi, CEO of Park Institution.
Later, the children were taken to Park Institution for a campus tour for a guided tour on higher education opportunities. This initiative has been taken to fulfil the long-time dream of these children and to make a positive impact on young minds and lives of under-priviledged children.
They were accompanied by five caretakers, 15 volunteers and special guests, including Industrialist and Chairman of VGP World Tamil Sangam V.G Santhosam, Music Director and Goodwill Ambassador of Raindrops, A. R Raihanah, Organic Scientist, Sultan Ahmed Ismail, and Playback Singer Velmurugan.
"Raindrops believes that every child must be given an opportunity to know the World around them. This initiative will instill hope and determination in these kids who will take back values and cherishable memories for lifetime," said Aravind Jayabal, Founder of Raindrops.
Addressing the media, A.R. Raihanah, Music Director and Goodwill Ambassador of Raindrops added that,
"While travelling in an aircraft is no big deal for normal people but for people from under privileged sections, it is a dream. Hence, today marks an unique and memorable day for these kids."
"This is not my first visit to this beautiful city Coimbatore, but this journey gives me a unique feeling. It was emotional and joyful to see the excitement in the children's face who thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the trip", added Velmurugan, Playback Singer.
