Coimbatore: Repeated complaints on delay in treatment, lack of basic amenities like toilets and drinking water facility and poor hygienic conditions at Government hospital has prompted the District Collector to hold a sudden inspection at GH on Friday morning.
With more than 2,000 outpatients and 7,000 inpatients being treated in the GH here, complaints are on the rise patients are made to wait for long hours for treatment and sometimes they are not attended even after several days of admission.

Many of the affected patients and their families have escalated the issue to the district collector through petitions and urged him to initiate action.

Acting upon their complaints, District Collector K. Rajamani paid a surprise visit to the GH and interacted with the patients and their attenders and heard their grievances.
