Tirupur: On behalf of Dollar Foundation, as a step to make the city clean and as a fundraiser for the treatment of cancer patients, a plog run "Namma Tirupur" was organized here on Sunday.
Tirupur: On behalf of Dollar Foundation, as a step to make the city clean and as a fundraiser for the treatment of cancer patients, a plog run "Namma Tirupur" was organized here on Sunday.
Adults and children who participated in the plog run were provided with bags, gloves and masks for collecting plastic debris on the streets.
The plog run covered a stretch of seven types of lanes, covering 30 km. The distance for adults was 5 km and for children, it was 3 km. Certificates were issued to those who handed over the garbage bag at the end of the run.
Earlier, the event was flagged off by Tirupur Collector K. VijayaKarthikeyan, Commissioner of Police, Sanjay Kumar and MLA (North) Vijayakumar.
