Coimbatore: Around 377 beneficiaries were distributed loan amounts at the 66th All India Co-operative Week which was held on Friday at RS Puram, Kalaiarangam, Coimbatore.
Distributing Rs.8.3 Crore loan amount to the beneficiaries, Minister S.P. Velumani gifted shields to 71 District co-operative societies and its employees for performing outstandingly during the recent cooperative festival.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that Rs.124 crores worth agricultural loans were waived off for 124 small and marginal farmers in the district. He noted that Rs.5.77 crore worth of agricultural loans for 12,865 farmers, Rs.1.89 crores worth crop insurance for 1385 farmers, Rs. 4.77 crore loan for 546 differently-abled people, Rs.5.77 harvest loan for 200 farmers and loans for self help groups and jewellery loan were distributed in the district.

He later inaugurated the Micro Fertilizer plant worth Rs.11.38 lakhs and Chekku oil manufacturing plant worth Rs. 2.73 lakhs.
