Coimbatore: Five houses of foresters was reportedly rampaged by a herd of elephants at Cinchona Post, Valparai on Thursday.
Coimbatore: Five houses of foresters was reportedly rampaged by a herd of elephants at Cinchona Post, Valparai on Thursday.
While the foresters were on duty, a herd of elephants rounded up the residential quarters of the forest department located at Manampalli check post near TAN tea at Cinchona post.
The herd broke the windows and doors of the house and pulled the rations out and consumed them. Furnitures and the frontage of the houses were reportedly damaged in the elephant attack.
Upon information, the forest staff chased the herd after a tough two hour struggle.
