The post-monsoon weight test was carried out on Sunday, at the Thorapalli Forest Department after the southwest monsoon had ceased. Weight tests were performed on 14 young and adult elephants. As usual, it was recorded that the elephants' weight had increased and their overall health had improved.
The 13-year old Masini elephant in particular weighed 2640 kg in comparison to its earlier weight of 1900 kg, when it was bought to the camp. Forest officials report that the elephants at the camps are healthy.
