Coimbatore : In the ten year long windmill scam case, the main accused Sarita Nair was sentenced with three years imprisonment and was levied a fine of Rs. 10,000 for windmill scam.
Coimbatore : In the ten year long windmill scam case, the main accused Sarita Nair was sentenced with three years imprisonment and was levied a fine of Rs. 10,000 for windmill scam.
Judicial Magistrate Court No: 6, K.R. Kannan on Thursday sentenced both Saritha Nair, the first accused and third accused, the manager of her Coimbatore-based firm, Ravi with three years imprisonment.
However, the court reserved the sentence for her former husband and partner of her firm Biju Radhakrishnan.
Addressing the media after the judgement, Saritha Nair said that she would appeal to the high court challenging the judgement and stated that the nature of the allegation should be dealt in a civil court, however it has been charged as a criminal offence.

She also alleged that all other cases against her in the State of Kerala has come to an end and being a woman she has been purposefully made to run pillar to post for the case. He also claimed that all baseless videos circulated in the social media in an intent to demean her name has been removed. Soon, I will come out of the case, she added.
The case was filed by Thiyagarajan, city-based industrialist who was cheated by Saritha and Biju by promising to install windmills. The duo have allegedly cheated Thiyagarajan upto Rs. 28 lakhs.
According to reports, Saritha, Biju and Ravi started a consultancy firm named International Consultancy and Management Services, Power and Connection in the year 2008 in Vadavalli, Coimbatore.
The trio have approached several industrialists to invest in their company including Venkataraman and Joyo, members of Sri Appu Babaji Charitable Trust in Ooty who have lost Rs. 5.5 lakhs to the trio in the pretext of setting windmills.
