All District Collectors, Corporation and Municipality Commissioners are advised by the State government to closely monitor the situation and slap fines on industries, private entities, health care sectors and educational institutions for not maintaining their premises clean.
In one such cleaning drive in Tirupur's industrial areas, Tirupur Collector, K. Vijayakarthikeyan inspected the industries and checked for cleanliness. He apprised that industries who do not maintain their premises cleanly and lead to breeding of disease causing germs and dengue mosquitos were slapped with fines up to Rs. 10 lakhs.
The Collector also inspected the cleaning drive carried at Mudhalipalayam area.
Health officials and doctors in the area distributed free Nilavembu concoction and medicines to the general public. It may be noted that 45 people were admitted in Tirupur Government Hospital for dengue and were later discharged after treatment.
