Coimbatore : More than 100 wild cows laid siege to a tea estate in Valparai causing panic among the tea estate workers who fled from the estate shirking work.

At the Paralai Estate located in Valparai, over 30 tea estate workers are engaged in collecting tea leaves from the estate's tea garden located on the Pollachi- Valparai road. Suddenly, more than 100 wild cows from the nearby forest area entered the tea garden. The wild cows grazed the grass in between the tea plants. The panic-stricken workers fled from the estate abruptly. The executives then allotted the workers with another place for work. The plantation in the area was reportedly damaged.

Upon receiving information, the forest officials tried to chase away the wild cows. However, the wild cows along with their calves roamed around the tea estate freely.

After several hours of struggle, the wild cows entered another tea estate nearby. However, the tea estate workers are now fearful that the wild cows can enter their tea garden anytime, again. Forest officials are presently monitoring the wild cows.
