The Nilgiris : A team of Revenue Division officials on Wednesday, confiscated vehicles and seized a building of two private tea estate companies in Gudalur for non-payment of agricultural tax.
Three jeeps, one tractor and a car belonging to a private estate on Gudalur - Ooty Road which had a sum of Rs. 13,06,012 pending tax was confiscated. Similarly, another tea estate company in Gudalur town with a tax overdue of Rs. 4,87,950 was taken to task by seizing their coffee seed processing building.
Upon the orders by RTO Rajkumar, Gudalur Tahsildhar, Sangeeta Rani, Revenue Inspectors, Village Officers and assistants were present.
