Coimbatore : In an effort to track the anti-dengue work assigned to field staff/officials, CCMC has launched an internal app called "Field activity monitor".

Stepping up its campaign to curb spread of dengue, the vector-borne disease, the CCMC has deployed notable human resource on the field to conduct door-to-door campaign to check cleanliness and educate the public on the do's and dont's.

In a bid to make the campaign 100% effective, an app to monitor the field staff has been put to use internally to track the activities.

Through the app, the zonal officers will be able to monitor the check-in time of the field staff/sanitary workers in a particular ward.

Sensitive areas prone to dengue and measures taken to keep them clean will also be enlisted in the app.

The field staff can log in and click pictures of the place and upload them at ease in the app. Thus informing the higher officials on the necessary actions to be taken.

Only, CCMC Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and City health officer will have access to the app and monitor the updates.

Breifing on the need for the app, CCMC Commissioner, Sravan Kumar said "This internal app will help us track the activities of the field staff. As a majority of the staff are engaged in the dengue eradication campaign, this app will help us efficiency of human resources. As the app cannot be logged in from a different location, it becomes easier for us to monitor."

"As CCMC plans for a all out digital transformation,we have planned to add one more feature in the field activity monitor , called the "Pan City" feature. The feature will enable any corporation official from any department to click pictures of civic issues in the city.

"For example, a bill collector can click pictures of a pot hole in any road and upload it in the app. Since it comes with co-ordinates it becomes easier for us to monitor and assign it to the concerned department", added the CCMC Commissioner.

And, for the public CCMC is all set to roll out a new grievance redressal app which will be more user friendly, thus enabling the the public to register their grievances or apply for any service related to corporation.

This new app will have added features including property tax payment, applying for birth and death certificates and more.
