District Collector inspects works carried out to enhance basic amenities at Sulur and Sultanpet Panchyat

Coimbatore : During the field inspection held today, District Collector, K Rajamani inspected the construction works carried out in Sulur and Sultanpet Panchayat in Coimbatore district and inspected several developmental activities.

Under the Integrated Urban Development Plan, various developmental and basic infrastructure works are being carried out which includes building overhead tanks, drinking water pipes, rain gutters, road facilities and street lighting in all the sub-urban and panchayat in the District. 



The ongoing works is being monitored periodically by the District Collector to ensure fair usage of funds and quality work being delivered. During today's visit, the Collector ordered the officials to expedite the works and complete them by the scheduled timeline. 

He also inspected the records maintained by the Village Administrative Office at the Sultanpet Panchayat Union, the Village Panchayat Service Center at Periya Vathambacheri and inquired on the distribution of government Deepavali gifts to the people. 

He instructed the officials to maintain proper records of distribution of welfare measures. The Collector stressed to ensure that all unused borewells are sealed safely. 

Later, he inspected the desilting works carried out at Kavundapalayam pond at an estimate cost of RS. 1 lakh, the Amma park being built at a budget of Rs. 20 lakhs, fitness centre at a cost of RS. 10 lakhs, Anganwadi construction at Chinna Vathamabachery at a budget of Rs. 8.70 lakhs and betterment of in-patient area, out-patient areas at the primary health centre. 

After inspecting the Government Student Hostel for most backward classes, the District Collector ordered the officials to immediately attend to the basic needs of the inmates including electricity, electric light, mat and blankets.

He also inspected the community well-being set-up in a budget of 9.97 lakhs, road works in a budget of 50.99 lakhs under Pradhan Mantri Grama Sadhak Yojana from T. Vadukapalayam to SP Vadukapalayam. 

Earlier, the Collector inspected the parking area and basic structures at the new bus station at Sulur Panchayat and ordered it to be put to public use at the earliest.
