Nilgiris: The District Collector, Innocent Divya inaugurated a Plastic Waste Management Park on behalf of the Coonoor Municipality and a private organisation called Clean Coonoor. The Clean Coonoor organisation had installed a machinery to segregate plastic waste from the Coonoor Municipality-owned dumpyard.

School students, charities, community organizations and municipal officials participated in the event. Addressing the public, the District Collector urged the public to segregate their waste into degradable and non-degradable garbage. She further explained that the machine would help in segregating the plastic waste and packages which will be burnt in a safe environment.
The Coonoor Municipal Commissioner, Balamurugan, Health Inspector, Malmurugan, the DeputySuperintendent of Police, Kumar, NGO officials Samantha and Vasanthakumar, and many other officials along with the public were present at the event.
