Tirupur : In a tragic road accident, a 57-year old woman's head was crushed when a Vellalar College bus hit the two-wheeler that she was riding pillion on.
Tirupur : In a tragic road accident, a 57-year old woman's head was crushed when a Vellalar College bus hit the two-wheeler that she was riding pillion on.
Karuppusamy, a resident of Kallangadu, Tirupur and his mother-in-law Parvathi (57) were on a two-wheeler travelling toward Sivan Malai to attend a wedding. When the vehicle reached Chandrapuram, a Vellalar College bus reportedly hit the two-wheeler. Karuppusamy and Parvathi fell off their vehicle and the bus ran over Parvathi's head. She died on the spot.
Residents in the area rushed to the spot, seized the bus and sent Karuppusamy to the hospital for medical aid. The police too rushed to the spot, retrieved Parvathi's corpse and sent it for autopsy. The driver of the bus surrendered at the Tirupur North Police Station. The police are coninuing their investigation of the accident.
