Their workplace friendship blossomed into a relationship, following which they began living together since the beginning of 2016 in Qatar. The two have reportedly stayed together many times in Lakshmi Narayanan Nandagopal's house in Coimbatore.

Lakshmi Narayanan has reportedly informed Niti Pandey recently that he was going to marry someone else alleging that er culture did not conform to the culture of his family. In April of last year, Niti Pandey had filed a complaint with several persons including the Coimbatore District Police Superintendent and the National Women's Commission. It has been reported that Lakshmi Narayanan was not present at the hearing since the petition had been under investigation for over six consecutive months. In this case, the Social Welfare Department has summoned Niti Pandey and advised her on her complaint.
It is reported that Lakshmi Narayanan Nandagopal's family was making arrangements for him to marry another woman. Niti Pandey along with the All India Democratic Womens' Association filed a petition today with the Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police to ensure that in future no woman ought to be cheated as she had been. In the petition, she demanded appropriate action against Lakshmi Narayanan and stated that she had already lodged a complaint with the National Women's Commission and the All Women's Police station in Perur. Niti Pandey alleged that Lakshmi Narayanan's parents had abused her when she informed them about their son's betrayal. She also stated in the petition urging the police to save the girl who was to be married to Lakshmi Narayanan in 15 days.
The Women's Association has accused the authorities of negligence stating that Niti Pandey's language challenges had led to the lethargic attitude of authorities in the State. They have also urged the police to conduct a proper investigation of the case. The Women's Association alleged that the police had stated that they cannot investigate the incident that occurred in Qatar. The members also added that it was unfair that the police who should be providing justice to the victim are actually being the deterrent and letting the wrongdoer go sccot free.
Meanwhile, the police have finally planned to summon the Qatar Airlines employee Lakshmi Narayanan Nandagopal who has not turned up for investigation even after several calls.
