Coimbatore : It's over a week, since the over bridge in Ammankovil area of the Pilichi Panchayat near Karamadai was washed away due to the flooding waters. The village has been completely cordoned off from the main road, as the bridge was the only route for the 300 plus families to connect to the town and nearby villages.

The flooding from Ezhu Erumaipallam, the main water source of the Mettupalayam, which originates from Periyanaickenpalayam and travels 15 kilometres to join Bhavani River has caused the over bridge submerge and later was washed away.
Due to the floods and continous water stagnation, recently a 10-feet deep pit on the road close to the bridge has questioned the mobility of the people of Pillichi Panchayat.
The residents have requested the officials to act on war footing and restore the road route in which presently even two wheelers are unable to pass by. They have also alleged that continous power disruption has made their lives very stressful.
