Coimbatore: District Collector, K Rajamani today inspected various rooms at the Coimbatore Collectorate. The Collector ordered for an immediate decluttering and cleanup of unused rooms in the premises and have them alloted to other departments. He also ordered the removal of old documents using shredders. District Revenue Officer, Ramadurai Murugan was present during the inspection.

With several motorcycles and four-wheelers parked haphazardly at the Coimbatore District Collectorate, officials and public found it inconvenient to get in and out of the premises. A few days ago, the District Collector ordered the immediate removal of Government and private vehicles which were obstructing traffic near the Collectorate. Following the order, a large number of vehicles were towed away by the police.
When the owners of the vehicles expressed their helplessness, the Collector ordered for the bushy areas behind the Collectorate to be cleared to convert the space into a parking lot. Also, vehicles that had been confiscated in various cases several years ago, including vehicles used for rice trafficking have been removed from Collectorate premises, a few days ago.
