While rescue operations of all sorts were on at full swing since Friday, the boy slipped further deep from 25 feet to 70 feet. Due to several reasons like delay in arrival of machinery and huge rocks beneath the surface prolonged the rescue operations until this moment.
However, while the rescue operation was about to near completion, the announcement by Revenue and Administration, Commissioner, Radhakrishnan stating the death of the boy has deeply saddened the child's parents and the people of this State who were hopeful of seeing him back alive.
After bad odour emanated from the hole that was dug parallel to rescue him, the officials confirmed the death of the little one who was battling for his life past four days.
