The shocking CCTV footage of the passengers running hither and thither to escape from being hit by a speeding truck and later falling into a pit has been widely circulated in social media.

Damodar Prakash, Deepika and Susheela from Sithanaickenpalayam were waiting at the bus stop in front of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board at Palladam, Chettipalayam. Unexpectedly, a speeding truck which lost control plunged into the bus stop. Seeing the truck approaching towards them, all three passengers screamed for help and ran.

Later, all three fell into a pit dug along the road.
The onlookers and motorists stopped by and rescued them. The public from the area alleged that lack of bus shelter and speed breakers in the area has been causing frequent accidents. The district administration has to address the issue and initiate action immediately, they urged.
