Coimbatore: A horrifying accident was averted at the Coimbatore railway station on Saturday, after an alert RPF personnel plunged into action to save a passenger who slipped off while boarding a moving train.

On the morning of October 26, Saturday, a passenger slipped off while attempting to board a moving train no No.56712 enroute from Palakkad to Tiruchchirapalli fast passenger at platform No:3 of Coimbatore railway station.

A RPF personnel, PV Jayan who was deputed in the platform swung into action and grabbed the passenger and pushed him inside the train.
Station Director, Sathesh Saravannan, public and passengers appreciated the RPF personnel's lightning speed efforts to save the passenger. He also presented the RPF personnel with a cash reward and certificate of merit.
Divisional Railway Manager (Salem division), U. Subba Rao commended the efforts of PV Jayan that helped save a life.
