Coimbatore: In a tragic iturn of events, a woman who visited her relative's house to enquire about a bereavement in the family and a youth in that home died of electrocution at the home n Pannimadai.
Coimbatore: In a tragic turn of events, a woman who visited her relative's house to enquire about a bereavement in the family and a youth in that home died of electrocution at the home n Pannimadai.
Ravi Kumar (26) is a resident of Sanjeevi Nagar, Pannimadai. On October 15, his grandfather Palanisamy passed away. Their relative Durgaiammal (56) visited their home to share in the bereavement. Durgaiammal who stepped out of the house for a bio break was electrocuted at the gate. Hearing her scream, Ravi Kumar rushed to the spot to help her but was unfortunately electrocuted too. Both Ravi Kumar and Durgaiammal died on the spot.

Upon receiving the information, the Thadagam police rushed to the spot and informed the Electricity Board employees to disconnect electricity in the area. The police then retrieved the corpses of Durgaiammal and Ravi Kumar, and had them sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. Police are investigating the tragic deaths which shocked the neighbourhood.
