The Nilgiris: A ninth-grader from Ooty's Crescent School who had won the first place at a state level art competition held in Chennai on September 20, went on to take the honours of being the winner at the national level too.
The Nilgiris: A ninth-grader from Ooty's Crescent School who had won the first place at a state level art competition held in Chennai on September 20, went on to take the honours of being the winner at the national level too.
Alan Yohan (15) is the son of a teacher Sharmila from Vivekananda Nagar in Ooty. Over 100 students from across the country participated in the national art competition held on October 19 at Ramoji Film City in Andhra Pradesh.
Alan Yohan's beautiful painting depicting nature won him the trophy from the Telangana Governor, Tamilisai Soundarajan. The public applauded the student from Ooty for being the first ever student from South India who has emerged as the winner at the national level.
"Alan used to draw very well from a very young age. He has won several prizes at district level art competitions but I am proud that he has won his first national level prize," gushed Alan's mother, Sharmila.
