Coimbatore : Coimbatore Corporation has intensified monitoring of dengue and the eradication drive by adding more workforce and creating an application to monitor the work of field level staff.
CCMC already has 800 Domestic Breeding Checkers (DBCs) conducting door-to-door inspection for dengue larvae. Over 400 workers have now been added as DBCs, thus increasing the total work force to 1200. Now each Ward will have 12 people and four teams will be formed to monitor and prevent the spread of dengue. These field-level staff will be monitored by Assistant Commissioners at the Zonal level.
CCMC is also developing an application for internal use where the field-level staff will upload their work on a daily basis. This will help higher officials to monitor the work conducted in 100 wards in the city.
