Syed from Tirupur was on the way to Ooty in his two-wheeler. This morning, when he passing by JJ Nagar on Annur-MTP road his speeding two-wheeler lost control due to rain and collided head on with a truck from the opposite direction.
Immediately after the impact, the petrol tank of the two-wheeler exploded and caught fire. As the fire spread fast, the truck too caught fire. Syed who was struck in the collision was burnt to death. Fortunately, the lorry driver jumped out of the truck and escaped from the fire.
The onlookers alerted the fire and rescue department who rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The Annur police have registered a case and are investigating.
