The Nilgiris : The Mahila Fast Track Court Justice N. Muralidharan sentenced Vijayarathnam the accused in the sexual harassment case of 2017 of a minor girl in Oveli in Gudalur with 10 years rigorous imprisonment and levied a fine of Rs. 5000.
The Nilgiris : The Mahila Fast Track Court Justice N. Muralidharan sentenced Vijayarathnam the accused in the sexual harassment case of 2017 of a minor girl in Oveli in Gudalur with 10 years rigorous imprisonment and levied a fine of Rs. 5000.

Vijayaratnam alias Suresh (22), a resident of Oveli, Mullai Nagar near Gudalur has sexually abused a 6-year-old girl. Subsequently, he was arrested and booked under POCSO act.
The case was on trial at the Ooty Fast Track Mahila court. As the accused did not present himself on October 16, the Court ordered the police to nab him and present him before the Court. The accused was arrested in Coimbatore and presented before Justice.N. Muralitharan who sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment on October 19.
The Justice also ordered the district administration to immediately compensate Rs. 4 lakhs to the victim's family on behalf of the State government.
