Arivudainambi was working as a town planning inspector in the Gudalur Municipality. He was suspended from duty by Municipal Commissioner of Gudalur, Narayanan after he allegedly accepted bribe and opened a sealed building that was closed down by the municipality for construction violations.
Further, Arivudainambi in an inebriated state released a video recorded in social media defaming and threatening the District Collector and Municipal Commissioner. He has stated that he would return to work at Gudalur Municipality starting from Wednesday and no one can stop him.
The video sent shock waves among the public and the government staff. Following which, Narayanan, Commissioner of Gudalur Municipality filed a complaint against Arivudainambi at the Ooty G1 police station. Based on the complaint, Inspector Vinayagam arrested Arivudainambi yesterday night. He was later produced in front of the magistrate who remanded him.
