After death of her husband, six months ago, Vedhavalli (41) and her daughter Kaarkuzhali (5) has been living with her parents Ramakrishnan and Leelavathi in Sri Kamakshi Nagar, Ondipudur, Coimbatore.
Last night, Kaarkuzhali (5) was rushed to Coimbatore Government Hospital after she fell very ill. Shockingly, he was pronounced brought dead by the hospital.
Upon information, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Balaji Saravanan and Singanallur police came to the scene and investigated.
As the house where Vedhavalli was staying was locked from inside and nobody responded, the police broke open the window and found that Vedhavalli had hung herself to death.
The police immediately retrieved the body of the 41-year-old woman and sent the body to Government Hospital for autopsy.
It is alleged that Vedhavalli could have killed her 5-year-old daughter and also killed herself, later. The police are investigating to ascertain the reason behind the suspicious death of the mother and the daughter.
