Extending their support for the decision, the CPM and CPI parties staged a demonstration in front of Power House in Sivananda Colony here, today which was headed by District Secretary Sundaram of CPI.
The protestors raised slogans urging the centre to use Rs.1.76 lakhs crores from the reserve bank towards public investments and unemployment, increase minimum salary to Rs. 18,000, withdrawing the decision to privatize defence explosives factories, railways, BSNL and Air India.
Several CPI and CPI(M) members took part in the protest.
