Bharathi Nagar, Kamatchi Amman Temple, Indra Nagar, Sripathi Nagar, Rubha Nagar, Vincent Road and other areas in Ramanathapuram have become an area of concern and inconvenience to residents since the roads have been dug up and left open. The recent downpours have added to the woes of residents in the area since the roads have now become slushy and slippery.
A large number of people living in the area, including working people as well as students who daily commute to schools and colleges have been put at risk. Accidents are reportedly becoming a frequent occurrence. Even after the completion of the sewer projects, the roads that had been dug open for the purpose have been left unattended and not properly closed. Residents are now demanding the Corporation Administration to repair and re-lay the roads immediately.
