Over thousands work as food delivery partners in Coimbatore and Zomato employees received Rs. 40 per order as commission a few months ago but it was reduced to Rs. 30. Once again, their commission has been further lowered to Rs. 25 per delivery. The six zones created in Coimbatore for food delivery has alos been reduced to three.

Zomato employees expressed their concern saying that they would have to ride long distances for delivery which would mean excessive petrol charges just for Rs. 25. They also stated that food orders have considerably reduced. Hence, over 100 Zomato delivery partners staged a strike from work at the Zomato Office on Race Course Road demanding to increase their commission amount.
