Coimbatore: A woman filed a complaint with the Coimbatore Commissioner's Office claiming that a finance company sought ownership of her house by threatening her with the loan she had borrowed.

Mithra (29) hails from Kalapatti in Coimbatore and borrowed 22 lakhs for her studies by pledging her house last year after she was forced by the bank administration to repay the loan she had borrowed for her studies.

Since Mithra was unable to repay the deed as promised to Rajesh the financier who lent her the money for a period of three months, Mithra's assets were registered in December 2018 under the name of Rajesh's friend Pandiyarajan.

When Mithra asked Rajesh to return the house documents after repaying the money with interest, Rajesh reportedly refused and threatened to kill her and also sexually harrassed her. Hence, Mithra filed a complaint along with her mother Umarani at the Coimbatore Commissioner's Office and District Collector's office.

Addressing the media, Mithra said, "Rajesh and Pandiarajan threatened me and my parents to usurp my property. He is threatening to kill me if ask for my house again. I am ready to pay the amount in full. They are misbehaving with me and threatening to kill my mother," she lamented. The authorities received the petition and ensured appropriate action.
