Coimbatore: Frequent power outages have been disrupting internet services that are being provided to e-service centers and Government offices through BSNL in Valparai. Mobile services, landline phones and internet services provided by BSNL have been hard hit in the area.
Coimbatore: Frequent power outages have been disrupting internet services that are being provided to e-service centers and Government offices through BSNL in Valparai. Mobile services, landline phones and internet services provided by BSNL have been hard hit in the area.
Due to the absence of diesel in two generators at the BSNL communication station in Valparai, the telephone exchange becomes completely paralyzed during a power outage. As a result, banks, ATMs, Government and private e-service centres operating in the Valparai area are completely affected.
Tea plantation workers are reportedly unable to take their salaries out of the bank due to inactive ATMs.
Also, people have been inconvenienced since they are unable to obtain income certificates, caste certificates and other certificates from e-centres. Hence, the public have demanded that action be taken to ensure that at least the telephone exchange is functional during the power outage.
