Coimbatore: Irate residents of Palanisamy Layout near Sitra protested, demanding for a proper road facility in the area.
They allege that the wear and tear of the road has been caused by heavy construction activity happening in KMCH. Heavy vehicles carrying construction materials to the hospital, patients' vehicles and other medical equipment vehicles are frequently seen using this road. Hence, residents in the area are questioning the hospital management for frequenting this road even though the hospital has three other entrances.
Deep potholes on the road have been a huge deterrent for motorists and residents using the road. The residents opined that since the road was being used frequently to serve the purpose of the private hospital, the management should take responsibility to maintain it. The residents also alleged that potholes caused by heavy vehicles leads to water stagnation on the roads which could cause health issues in the area. The residents complained that in spite of several protests and petitions to authorities requesting urgent repair of the road, there has been no action initiated by the administration
