Coimbatore: Following technical approval awarded for the project, the Coimbatore Corporation has called for online tender for an Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT). As the project has got administrative and technical sanction, online tender has been called for the project. The cost of the project will be partly borne by the State government and the CCMC.

The 61.62-acre IBT proposal has provisions for a driveway, utilities and building to be constructed in an area of 52.06 acres, landscaping area in 7. 68 acres and a reserve area for an Omni bus terminus in 1.88 acres, with the total construction area being 37, 854 sq.m.

This is apart from the 71 shops in an area of 32,152 sq.ft., 11 ATMs in 2243 sq.ft., seven transport offices in 2,194 sq.ft. area and two public dormitories in an area of 7,862 sq.ft. proposed for the IBT.
