Coimbatore : On behalf of Coimbatore Wildlife Conservation Trust (CWCT), Venkatesh, District Forest Officer (DFO) inaugurated a tree planting event at the banks of river Noyyal on Sunday.
Coimbatore : On behalf of Coimbatore Wildlife Conservation Trust (CWCT), Venkatesh, District Forest Officer (DFO) inaugurated a tree planting event at the banks of river Noyyal on Sunday.
The event was chaired by the President of CWCT, Muruganandham and led by Secretary, Shanmugasundaram during which 105 tree saplings were planted in the river Noyyal area in Vaigai Nagar, Vellalore.
Earlier, CWCT had planted several saplings in Vadavalli, Somaiyampalayam, Pannimadai and have been involved in holding various awareness meeting on Wildlife conservation.
Later, Forest Officer Venkatesh educated the public on the importance of growing trees and how it would benefit humans, birds and wildlife.
Members of CWCT Sudhakar, Vellingiri, Kumaravelu, Ganeshan, Praveen, Hari Krishnan, Mohan and Manikandan took part in the event.
