Coimbatore : Recently, the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has been witnessing a steady flow of dengue and viral fever cases. As of today, about 184 patients with dengue and viral fever are undergoing treatment at special wards.
Coimbatore : Recently, the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has been witnessing a steady flow of dengue and viral fever cases. As of today, about 184 patients with dengue and viral fever are undergoing treatment at special wards.
Upon orders from the health department, round-the-clock assistance for fever-affected patients and close monitoring of dengue patients has been carried out at CMCH to reduce the spread of the disease.
On October 9, 14 dengue patients and 94 others with viral fever were admitted at CMCH. However, as of now, 32 dengue patients, including five children and 152 patients, including 28 children affected with viral fever are currently undergoing treatment at CMCH.
The steady increase in dengue cases have panicked the people who have requested the Corporation to
take necessary steps to curb the spread of the disease by clearing garbage on a timely manner across all wards.
Meanwhile, it is alleged that those patients undergoing treatment for dengue at private hospitals are not being reported to the health department. Hence, there is no factual numbers on the patients affected with dengue in the district.
