Vignesh Kumar (24) from Pichampalayam, Tirupur came to Coimbatore to visit his college to get a copy of his degree certificates which he lost a few days back.
While he was on his way, allegedly two transgenders stopped him for locating an address and later barged into him and grabbed Rs.1000 and eloped.
Hearing Vignesh Kumar shout for help, the passers-by captured the snatchers and handed them over to the Peelamedu police.
Upon investigation, the police revealed that the duo were not transgenders but they were two men who disguised themselves as transgenders.
The offenders were identified as Anandan alias Manikandan (36) and Mani alias Kani (32) from TVS Nagar in Kundampalayam.
Peelamedu police have filed a case and confiscated Rs.1000 and imprisoned them in the central jail.
