Dep. Commissioner of Police denies permission to Secular Democratic Front for staging protest

Coimbatore: The Progressive Democratic Alliance led by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has been denied permission to stage a demonstration, today condemning the increase in water and property tax rates leived by the Corporation.


Coimbatore: The Progressive Democratic Alliance led by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has been denied permission to stage a demonstration, today condemning the increase in water and property tax rates leived by the Corporation. 

Citing that the issue is under judicial scrutiny at the Madras High Court, the Deputy Commissioner of Police refused permission to the petitioner to hold protest. 

The DC also warned the petitioners that stringent action will be initiated the perpetrators.

 

Earlier, MLA N Karthik had sought permission to stage a protest on October 10 to oppose the increase in water and property tax at South Taluk office here.
